Brussels, Belgium [16/06/2026] – Partners for Automated Vehicle Education Europe (PAVE Europe), a non-profit coalition dedicated to advancing public education and understanding of automated vehicle (AV) technology, is pleased to announce that Taxis 4 Smart Mobility (T4SM), the European voice of the taxi industry, has joined the coalition as a new member.
T4SM brings together eleven like-minded, innovative, and socially responsible national taxi associations, dispatch centres, and cooperatives committed to promoting and shaping sustainable and smart mobility across Europe. The coalition represents organisations from Spain, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, and Romania, providing a unique perspective on the future of passenger transport.
As autonomous vehicles become an increasingly important part of Europe’s mobility and industrial strategy, the taxi sector has a direct stake in ensuring that discussions around the technology remain grounded in operational realities and the needs of passengers. T4SM’s interest in AVs reflects its members’ readiness to integrate autonomous technologies into existing urban mobility systems, while ensuring that the transition is safe, orderly, and built on public trust.
“With decades of experience delivering passenger transport services in cities across Europe, T4SM brings an important operational perspective to conversations about the future of automated mobility,” said Guido Di Pasquale, Managing Director of PAVE Europe. “As AV technologies move closer to deployment, it is essential that the voices of mobility operators who interact with passengers every day are part of the discussion. We are delighted to welcome T4SM to the coalition.”
By joining PAVE Europe, T4SM contributes the perspective of passenger-facing transport operators with extensive experience navigating diverse regulatory frameworks, mobility challenges, and customer expectations across multiple European markets. Their participation will help foster informed dialogue around how autonomous technologies can be integrated into existing mobility ecosystems in ways that benefit passengers, operators, and cities.
“We are delighted to be a member of PAVE Europe,” said Gregor Beiner, Chairman of Taxis 4 Smart Mobility. “Engaging with leading experts in the field of autonomous driving provides a valuable platform for collaborating on the mobility of the future. As the voice of the European taxi industry, we are looking forward to actively contributing our extensive practical experience and in-depth knowledge of local regulatory frameworks to the organisation’s work.”
For T4SM, joining PAVE Europe reflects a shared belief that informed citizens and policymakers are essential to ensuring the successful adoption of autonomous vehicle technology. Through collaboration with industry, public authorities, and other stakeholders, both organisations aim to support a fact-based conversation about the opportunities and challenges associated with automated mobility.
PAVE Europe welcomes T4SM to the coalition and looks forward to working together to advance public understanding of AV technology and its role in creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility systems across Europe.
