PAVE’s advisory councils are made up of academic experts and public sector officials who believe in PAVE’s mission to educate the public on AV technology and the promise it offers. The councils support PAVE’s work by providing advice and expertise on matters related to AV technology and its societal effects.
Academic Advisory Council
PAVE’s Academic Advisory Council consists of academic experts in areas related to PAVE’s mission, including: AV technology, vehicle transportation, vehicle industry trends, auto safety, personal mobility, sustainability, public health, public education and mass communication.
The council is chaired by Dr. Jeffrey Michael with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Injury Research and Policy.

Public Sector Advisory Council
PAVE’s Public Sector Advisory Council consists of public institutions that assist PAVE in its mission to raise public awareness of AV technology. The council considers AV effects on public sector entities, including issues with infrastructure, law enforcement, and public transit.
The council is chaired by Tara Olds, Director of Connected and Automated Vehicles for the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
