At PAVE Europe, we are committed to creating a more inclusive future for the AV industry, one where women play a central role in shaping the technologies that will transform mobility. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote gender equality within the sector, we are excited to announce our new initiative of the European Network of Women in AVs. This community is aimed at increasing women’s participation and visibility across the AV ecosystem.
Our Gender Equality Policy is grounded in the belief that diversity leads to better outcomes. The transport and automotive sector has traditionally been male-dominated, often failing to address the unique needs and perspectives of women. The rise of emerging technologies, such as AVs, presents an opportunity to change this narrative. That is why we are taking action.
What is the European Network of Women in AVs?
The European Network of Women in AVs is designed to create opportunities for women to engage, connect and share their expertise across Europe. This network will serve as a platform to showcase the expertise of women working in the AV ecosystem by facilitating:
- Participation in panels, webinars, events and speaking opportunities
- Collaboration with other professionals in the AV space
- Greater visibility in a sector that is rapidly evolving
This initiative is launching ahead of International Women’s Day, and marks our ongoing commitment to gender equality in the industry. We welcome women from all aspects of the sector – policy, research, technology, design, or any related field – to become part of this network.
Call to Action
We invite all women working in the AV sector to join us in building a future where mobility is more inclusive and diverse. By joining the Women in AVs Database, you’ll be part of a collective effort to drive innovation and ensure that women’s voices are heard throughout the sector.
Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) Europe is a non-profit coalition that seeks to raise the level of public knowledge of automated vehicle technology and the potential benefits for safety, mobility, equity, and congestion. PAVE Europe’s diverse membership includes international corporations, start-ups, consumer advocates, nonprofit groups, and other stakeholders. PAVE Europe seeks to educate and facilitate dialogue among industry, policymakers, and the public to advance the development and deployment of AV technology.
