As we talk to public sector officials across the country, many people have questions about how to best prepare their community for autonomous vehicles. We hear questions such as: How do we train our first responders to interact with the vehicles? What infrastructure changes do we need to consider? What does this technology mean for jobs?
PAVE holds AV Academies with public sector entities to help communities prepare for the AV future. Our academies answer the questions above and address issues including safety, regulation, insurance, accessibility, AI, pedestrian safety, and more.
In June 2025, PAVE partnered with the Alliance for Automotive Innovation to hold a one-day AV Academy for Georgia legislators, staff, and other public sector representatives. The event included interactive audience activities, presentations, panel discussions, and a networking reception. Thought leaders from the industry, public sector, and consumer groups spoke at the academy and networked with attendees.
Waymo brought an autonomous vehicle to the reception, which attendees were able to explore.
