In July 2026, PAVE partnered with the Alliance for Automotive Innovation to host an AV Academy in Nashville for legislators and public sector officials from the southeastern United States. AV Academies are workshops for public sector entities designed to help their communities prepare for the AV future. The interactive sessions cover AV technology, regulation, workforce development, economic impacts, use cases, accessibility, and more.
The two-day gathering kicked off with a VIP welcome reception hosted by PAVE board member Amazon at their Nashville headquarters, which included welcome remarks from Cary Rotman, the Vice President of Amazon Freight and Middle Mile Optimization. The following day, at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown, featured presentations, panels, and interactive discussions. Thought leaders from industry and consumer groups spoke at the academy, answered questions, and networked with attendees.
Educating the public sector is central to PAVE’s mission, and the AV Academy program provides an opportunity for state and local leaders to learn more about AV technologies and engage with industry experts and fellow public sector leaders.
