JANUARY 6, 2026
At CES 2026, PAVE and CTA convened an AV Policy Forum, where public and private sector leaders discussed the latest developments in AV policy, along with related topics such as workforce development and AI. In addition to panel discussions, the forum featured remarks from FHWA Administrator Sean McMaster, NHTSA Administrator Jonathan Morrison, and FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs.

Attendees heard from leaders at several PAVE member organizations, including the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, Aurora, Gatik, the PLUM Catalyst, Plus, STEER, Waymo, and Zoox. Public sector officials also participated on panels, including Matt Furlow of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Kandee Bahr Worley of the Nevada Department of Transportation.

After a momentous year, the excitement around AVs remains stronger than ever in 2026, and the insights we gleaned point to another year of progress. Beyond the forum, CES offered an inspiring snapshot of how AVs are evolving and becoming a more integral part of our transportation ecosystem. For a list of upcoming PAVE events, click here.
