Event Recap: Public-Private Sector CES Roundtable

JANUARY 8, 2025

We kicked off 2025 with a bang at CES, where we hosted a first-of-its-kind AV roundtable. PAVE partnered with board member CTA to convene the roundtable, where leaders from the private and public sectors discussed the state of AV tech, AV regulation, and best practices for public engagement. The session drew an enthusiastic crowd and led to engaging conversations.

The roundtable featured three panels:

  • The Current State of AV Technology
With Shai Shalev-Shwartz of Mobileye, Dr. Sterling Anderson of Aurora, and Dr. Raquel Urtasun of Waabi
  • Public Education and Addressing Community Needs
With Kelly Nantel of Amazon, Suzanne Philion of Waymo, and Cynthia Mitchell-Heard of the Los Angeles Urban League
  • Innovation and Regulation
With Garlin Gilchrist III, Lieutenant Governor of Michigan; Speaker Steve Yeager of the Nevada State Legislature; and Don Burnette of Kodiak

The excitement around AVs was stronger than ever. From reconnecting with longtime members to forging new connections across the industry, CES offered an inspiring snapshot of how AVs are evolving and how collaboration continues to shape their future. For a list of upcoming PAVE events, click here.
