An important element of AV education is providing the public with opportunities to experience self-driving technology firsthand.
In November 2023, PAVE and member organization May Mobility offered autonomous vehicle demo rides to attendees of the National League of Cities’ annual City Summit in Atlanta, GA. Conference guests were invited to take a ride in a May Mobility vehicle on the streets of Atlanta.
The demo rides allowed city officials to experience an AV ride, learn more about the technology, and explore how AVs could benefit their own cities. Our rider survey indicated that respondents felt very safe in the AV and were eager to see the adoption of AVs in their respective communities.
This event gave us an opportunity to engage with city leaders from across the country about how AVs could improve transit and road safety nationwide. For a list of upcoming PAVE events, including demos, click here.
