In October 2024, PAVE and autonomous trucking companies Aurora, Plus, and Torc exhibited at the Texas State Fair for a first-of-its-kind Autonomous Trucking Weekend. The four organizations, along with the Texas Department of Transportation, hosted a 2,500-square-foot exhibit where visitors of all ages could see autonomous trucks firsthand, interact with hands-on displays, talk to engineers and industry experts, and more.
We hosted live educational programming throughout the weekend, including panel discussions and fireside chats with autonomous trucking leaders and TxDOT officials. The exhibit also provided information on the capabilities of autonomous trucks, how these vehicles are being prepared for deployment on public roads, and the jobs that the AV industry is bringing to Texas communities.
The exhibit served as a conversation starter with the people of Texas; for many Texans, this was the first time they had seen an autonomous truck firsthand, and events like this are essential to ensuring the public is well-informed about the future of mobility.
