PAVE Virtual Panel: How Do AVs See Pedestrians?
Of all of the technical challenges that fully autonomous vehicles face, reliably detecting pedestrians and cyclists and predicting their behavior is one of the toughest. Yet these are precisely the kinds of challenges that AVs must overcome in order to deliver on the promise of safer urban mobility, delivery and logistics.
We continue Pedestrian Safety Month with a virtual panel with PAVE members working on these thorny problems to find out what techniques and technologies they are using to ensure that AVs make vulnerable road users less vulnerable than they are today.
