PAVE Virtual Panel: Reimagining Vehicle Design for the Autonomous Age
Ensuring the safety of autonomous vehicles has a lot to do with the performance of their automated driving systems, but another major factor is the design of the vehicle itself. Novel AV designs, which will never have a human driver or a human on board, present unique opportunities as well as challenges. In this PAVE virtual panel, we are joined by companies pursuing novel AV designs to explore why they took this approach, the advantages they see in rethinking what a vehicle can be, and the challenges they face in ensuring that such designs comply with existing regulations.
