PAVE Virtual Panel: Autonomous Vehicles and the Long Road to Eliminating Pedestrian Deaths
Having examined how ADAS could help prevent pedestrian and cyclist injuries and deaths, our second discussion for Pedestrian Safety Month turns to fully autonomous vehicles and how they are working to make vulnerable road user deaths a thing of the past. We’ll look at why pedestrians and cyclists present a particular challenge to autonomous vehicles, how developers are drawing on everything from behavioral psychology to video games to detect and predict their movements, and where they can make the biggest impact.
