EU Projects Communications and Event Officer

PAVE Europe is looking for a EU Projects Communications & Events Officer to help plan and execute communications strategies, events and projects for our growing organization. We’re looking for a creative team player who will thrive on a small, collaborative, fast-paced team.
A minimum of 2–3 years experience in a similar role is required. Your role will involve carrying out communications and event activities for EU-funded projects. These activities include drafting communication strategies, developing and implementing communication plans and materials, preparing communication and dissemination-related project deliverables and reports, writing updates and articles for the project website and newsletters, online promotion, social media management, monitoring and analyzing communication channels in relation to project KPIs, and supporting event promotion.
Additionally, the role includes stakeholder engagement, citizen engagement campaigns, and the organization of workshops, seminars, capacity-building, and training sessions.
The EU Projects Communications & Events Officer will work under the supervision of the Managing Director with a full-time employment contract. This is a fully remote role, and the selected candidate will be required to start ideally at the beginning of May 2025. This position requires traveling within Europe.
About PAVE
Partners for Automated Vehicle Education Europe is a non-profit association, based in Brussels, with the mission to raise the level of public knowledge of fully automated vehicle technologies. PAVE Europe unites diverse stakeholders across the Automated Vehicle (AV) ecosystem to run an engaging communications campaign about the future of mobility. The coalition has a fast-growing number of partner organizations, including tech innovators, auto manufacturers, advanced component developers, consumer and safety groups, insurers, academics and public sector entities. We seek to reach broad audiences, sharing facts and information about AV technology and its potential for society.
Responsibilities
- Develop and carry out project communication and dissemination activities
- Follow, adapt and prepare communication strategies and plans
- Write detailed reports on project progress and deliverables, ensuring that submission is in line with deadlines
- Prepare and edit news items on project objectives and achievements
- Create project/platform promotional materials
- Monitor and report on project communications activities and KPIs for submission to the European Commission
- Liaise with external consortium partners
- Coordinate the design and production of communications material, including websites, videos, visual identity and logo, roll ups, brochures, document and presentation templates
- Set up and run project/platform social media accounts
- Support the coordination and planning of the communication and promotion of events
- Working with service providers and external agencies where relevant
- Manage the overall implementation of EU funded projects
- Organise meetings/workshops and stakeholders’ engagement activities (logistic and content)
- Prepare documentation for the reporting of all the activities and deliverables for PAVE Europe (narrative and administrative/financial)
- Support PAVE Europe corporate communications
Qualifications
- Experience with EU-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe).
- About 2–3 years of relevant experience in communications, events, and EU-funded project management, with at least two years of EU project communications experience in EC-funded programs (preferably in the field of Autonomous Mobility/CCAM).
- Excellent spoken and written English; knowledge of other EU languages is considered an asset.
- Digital and online communication expertise (digital marketing, SEO, content distribution, social media) with the ability to tap into current trends to engage different audiences; and analyzing data.
- Knowledge and experience in creating multimedia content, including videos, and infographics.
- Excellent command of MS Office 365, collaboration tools (MS Teams), social media, communication, and design tools/software (Emma, Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress).
- Creative, organized, and proactive; a strong team player.
- Clear understanding of PAVE Europe’s mission and passion for AV technology and its potential.
- Familiarity with the transport and mobility sectors, automated vehicle technology, the AV ecosystem, and its stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track details, prioritize tasks, and juggle multiple projects while maintaining communication with internal and external partners.
- Ability to coordinate diverse partnerships, ensuring clear, consistent messaging and quick responses to news developments.
- A flexible self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proven track record in event organization.
- Commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative working style – a good team player willing to support various tasks that contribute to team success.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in an international team.
- Availability to travel within Europe.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in implementing new communication approaches.
- Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage several projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, audience-appropriate messages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both the PAVE team and external stakeholders.
