PAVE Europe in ZalaZONE
PAVE Europe members and guests recently convened at ZalaZONE in Hungary, hosted by our esteemed member AVL. Participants had the privilege of touring the proving ground and AV testing facilities operated by AVL in collaboration with the TÜV Rheinland Group.

EU Report on Road Safety
The EU has released its Annual Statistic Report on Road Safety in EU Member States, compiling data from 2022. Unfortunately, compared to 2021, there has been a notable increase in the number of road crashes, fatalities, and injuries recorded. It’s disheartening to note that despite a 9% decrease in fatalities across the entire EU in 2019, the trend has reversed.
Of particular concern are vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, motorcyclists, mopeds, and cyclists, who account for the highest number of fatalities compared to other modes of transportation, totaling 47%. Car occupants represent 45% of fatalities, while the remaining 3% comprise other categories. The age groups most at risk are individuals aged 25-49 (32%) and 50-64 (23%).
