PAVE launches at CES 2019

Partners for Automated Vehicle Education made its public debut on Jan. 7, 2019, at CES (formerly known as the Consumer Electronics show), announcing its first-of-its kind campaign to inform the public and policymakers about the potential and the reality of advanced vehicle technologies and self-driving vehicles.

PAVE will seek to bring realistic, factual information to policymakers and the public so consumers and decision-makers understand automated vehicles and the technology that makes them possible, what’s available today and what’s possible in the future — including the benefits for safety, mobility and sustainability.

PAVE will sponsor hands-on workshops to give consumers the ability to see, touch and feel developing AV technology. It will hold policy workshops in partnership with major academic institutions to help policymakers understand AVs and their potential. And it will produce a website – this website — and social media content designed to reach broad audiences with factual, digestible information about AVs and their development.

Representatives of PAVE members including the National Safety Council, Audi of America, the National Federation of the Blind, Cruise, INRIX, NVIDIA, Securing America’s Future Energy, Toyota, Voyage, Zoox and the Consumer Technology Association held a press conference during CES Media Days to announce the coalition’s launch.
