Helping States Prepare for Autonomous Vehicles
One of PAVE’s core initiatives is working with public sector entities to help them prepare for a future with AVs. After successful events in Georgia and Louisiana last year, we were excited to work with the Minnesota DOT and Stantec this spring on an AV Day at the Minnesota State Capitol, which attracted more than 200 visitors. Next up: AV workshops in VA and TN this summer!
First Cohort Completes AV Leadership Academy in DC
Earlier this year, PAVE partnered with the Consumer Technology Association and the Alliance for Auto Innovation to run the first-ever AV Leadership Academy, a five-session workshop in Washington, DC, for staff from Capitol Hill and the U.S, DOT. Twenty students enrolled in the course, which included AV demonstrations, exploring AV tech and policy, and networking with industry leaders.
PAVE on the Road
Team PAVE has joined audiences across the U.S. at conferences and events to discuss the state of the AV industry, AV regulations, the workforce, and more. Events included an AV Policy Forum at CES, a keynote at the SAE Government and Industry meeting, a panel at AAMVA’s Spring Workshop, a workshop at the ACT Expo, a panel at CoMotion Miami, and a presentation at the National Bike Summit.
ICYMI: PAVE Virtual Panels
PAVE’s award-winning series of virtual panels has included recent conversations on AV safety, the current policy landscape, and scaling for the long haul. You can find the entire virtual panel series on the PAVE YouTube channel. Additionally, you can join us this Thursday at 2 PM ET for a conversation with three industry leaders on challenges & opportunities for AVs in work zones. Click here to register!

Congrats to our Essay Contest Winners
We’re pleased to announce the winners of our Fourth Annual Essay Contest & Scholarship Program. This year, we partnered with the Michigan DOT to encourage students from the Mitten State to imagine a future with AVs. The three winning students will receive college scholarship funds, thanks to the generosity of PAVE member STEER Tech, at an award ceremony next month.
