PAVE partnered with member group NAVYA to bring free automated shuttle demonstration rides to conference attendees of the 2019 National League of Cities’ City Summit held in San Antonio, TX.

 

 

On Nov. 21-22, conference attendees representing over 2,000 cities, towns, and villages nationwide had the rare opportunity to take a free ride in an automated shuttle and learn about self-driving technology. Autonomous shuttles such as Navya’s AUTONOM are one important application of automated vehicle technology, making it possible for operators to improve transportation on private sites and ease road congestion in urban centers. The shuttle rides took place in Hemisfair Park, just steps from the Henry B. González Convention Center in downtown San Antonio. The ride lasted about 10 minutes and over 150 conference attendees had the opportunity to experience this automated vehicle technology first-hand.
