PAVE Virtual Panel – “Accessibility & AVs: Lessons from goMARTI, Minnesota’s Autonomous Rural Transit Initiative”

goMARTI (Minnesota’s Autonomous Rural Transit Initiative) is an on-demand autonomous shuttle project located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, that was created to explore accessibility-focused public transportation in rural communities. The program provides free on-demand rides using automated May Mobility shuttles.

The shuttles have given thousands of rides since the project began, including to people like Myrna Peterson, a wheelchair user who otherwise has limited transportation options. So how can the success of the goMARTI program be replicated in other rural communities? And how can we adopt a more people-focused approach throughout the autonomous vehicle industry?

Tune in on Wednesday, March 27th to hear from key stakeholders in the goMARTI project on what lessons they’ve learned so far, the outlook for autonomous transit in rural communities, and how automated vehicles can help make transportation more accessible for everyone.

Panelists include Tammy Meehan Russell, President of The Plum Catalyst; Tara Olds, Director of Connected and Automated Vehicles at MnDOT; and Mychael Mulhern, Director of Customer Success at May Mobility.
